.Cyber -attacks can cause not only physical damage, psychological trauma, and financial losses and acute of faith in a system.it can cause panic among the people, paralysis at the highest echelons of decision-making and collapse of the system.

Cybersecurity in Pakistan

Pakistan is one of the most cyber spied upon the country in the world. It is not India alone that wages a strong cyber offensive against Pakistan, many other countries are also using cyber means to siphon off critical data. The united states are among the countries that actively and regularly spy upon Pakistan. With Cyberattacks affecting top companies in the country, it comes as no surprise that Pakistan is ranked among the lowest countries in terms of Cybersecurity.
 According to a study conducted by Comparitech, Pakistan was ranked 7th in terms of the countries with the worst cybersecurity. The study collected data from various sources including Kaspersky and the Global Strategies Index.


         

 The institute on  National Centre because Cyber Security (NCCS) has been commenced by Government over Pakistan within June 2018. The NCCS task is a league initiative over the Higher Education Commission (HEC) or Planning Commission. The Centre constitutes  Research then Development (R&D) Labs in renowned universities regarding Pakistan who have been shortlisted since the begin call for proposals taken with the aid of HEC within early 2018. After meticulous scrutiny in twins rounds over evaluation, technical proposals beside 11 universities regarding Pakistan had been shortlisted. Recommendations

Pakistan has a very huge and talented human resource.some of the best IT graduate is being produced in a university like NUST and FAST-NU.the only thing that we lack is direction and policy and that is not possible without good cyber managers and planners. The following steps are advice for effectively managing cyberspace in Pakistan.

1.a cyber-taskforce under the NSC is another important step. the mandate of the CTF should include issuing policy guidelines on cybersecurity.

2.cyber fund should be allocated in the national budget and the proper utilization must also be ensured by the national cybersecurity coordinator.

3. A cybersecurity debate in the parliament may help set up a long term plan.it would be a good idea for political parties to have cybersecurity issue included in their election manifestos.

4. A national CERT should be established and asked to practice cyber emergency on a regular basis.

5.pakistan universities should group together for the promotion of cybersecurity awareness under the umbrella of HEC.

DEVOTED CYBERCRIME LAWS OF PAKISTAN
For maintaining the integrity of data and confidentiality, Pakistan needs to make serious efforts to establish a national computer emergency response team, national cyber coordination center, and sectoral CERTs, the government needs to come up with ideas to develop successful collaboration between sectoral and national CERTs.Government universities and the private sector can organize a white-hat hackers marathon to raise a force for a robust cyber defense.
