Conceive with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

 

PCOS is a major issue in married woman now days. Every woman when she get married she want to get pregnant but if she has PCOS then she has to face many difficulty in conceiving .that’s not mean she can’t get pregnant with PCOS  ,actually she can pregnant with this issue just have to care a little bit more than other woman .

How does PCOS disturb fertility?

Woman with PCOS take a long time for conceiving than other woman. Because they do not ovulate in every month they have irregular period .when woman have PCOS then they face many issue related to weight ,they face difficulty in losing weight .Due to overweight their fertility is disturbed. But the good news is that the woman with PCOS has as many children as other woman.

Fertility Treatment for PCOS Patient:

 First adopting a healthy life style and done your full efforts to manage your PCOS symptoms .if you can’t control then take a good fertility treatment as shown below.

 1. Clomid or Lezra :

is the most commonly used for fertility, at least take three to six month these tablets or as per you doctor advice. Many women with PCOS will conceive with clomid.If she can’t conceive with clomid then they have to take others fertility treatments. These are

 2. Ovulation induction Treatment:

Gonadotropins:

Polycystic ovary syndrome represents 80% of anovulatory infertility cases.so doctor gave us these hormones for ovulation.

 In this treatment the lady has to take clomid for 2^nd day to 6 day of their period .then go for ultrasound on 10 day and then start to take 3 to 4 gonadotropins injections from day 10 to 14 .then again go for ultrasound then doctor gave another injection for egg release. There are 70 to 80% chances present for conceiving.

 

3.Ovarian Drilling:

 

In Ovarian drilling surgeon make a cut in your abdomen area and insert a device which is long and thin called a laparoscope. Then surgeon gave an electric current and destroys all small cysts in ovary. From this treatment the patient have a great chance for having a big follicle  .because due to small cysts the follicle can’t grow in the ovary that’s why the lady don’t have a enough size of egg for releasing .

This surgery may be less costly as compare to gonadotropins. But the professional doctor doesn’t recommend this treatment because in this treatment the lady has a great risk of scarring the ovaries.

4. IUI ( Intrauterine insemination ):

Another treatment  IUI is performed with the same dose of gonadotropins recommended for timed intercourse In this procedure the sperm inject into the uterine cavity .when the follicle size is between 17 to 20mm.

However, for this treatment modality, the recombinant hCG is administered for final oocyte maturation when the dominant follicle has a mean diameter of 17 to 20 mm via US examination and capacitated sperm can be injected into the uterine cavity 36 hours later. after this procedure taking test on 14 day for positive pregnancy.

5. If you don’t get pregnant with all these treatment which is mention above then the doctor may suggest IVF treatment. This is the last and the most successful treatment for PCOS patient. IVF is (in vitro fertilization ) in this treatment ,sperm and egg are met outside the body in a lab .in which fertilization occur then doctor place the fertilize egg into the uterus. IVF offer women with PCOS the great chance of getting pregnant.it expensive but most successful treatment for PCOS patient.
